The Editors:

Chris Stead
Editor-in-chief | gameplayer.com.au

Chris SteadChris loves his thumbs, without them it would have been a pretty unproductive couple of decades. Born alongside a little game called Asteroids, Chris is a ‘gameplayer’ by fate as much as design. Veteran gamers may remember his work on the likes of N64 Gamer, Hyper and PC PowerPlay magazines back when grunge was cool and Michael Jackson was black. He was part of the launch crew for Official PlayStation 2 Magazine in 2000, Krash magazine in 2002, and Australian Gamepro in 2003 -- a title he went on to take over as Editor. Now in gaming’s most exciting era yet he is here to launch Australia’s biggest and best game site. And it’s all thanks to his thumbs: keeping Chris’ nose clean and his arse in employment since 1996.

James Cottee
News Editor | gameplayer.com.au

James CotteeJames has been working as a games journalist since the late 20th century. Once the Editor of Australian Station magazine, he’s also covered games for PC PowerPlay, Hyper, Nintendo Gamer, PC Games Addict, Krash, Edge, T3, Atomic, Gamespot, The Official Windows XP Magazine, The Australian, and The Sydney Morning Herald. Whether hacking through the jungles of Cambodia, or scouring the frigid Canadian wilds, he never gives up when searching the globe for a scoop. He’s also won Australia’s highest award for games journalism, the Sun Microsystems IT Journo Award for Best Gaming Journalist. Twice.

Luke Reilly
Deputy Editor | Official PlayStation magazine

Luke ReillyLuke Reilly has been writing since 1988. His early work was patchy; it was written in crayon and generally about dinosaurs. It did, however, improve steadily through school – despite the fact he played Chuck Yeager’s Air Combat daily in lieu of homework. In 2000 he found himself at the University of Western Sydney earning the cheapest journalism degree money can buy and in 2003 he began to contribute to Official PlayStation 2 Magazine. He landed a full-time gig on the mag in 2005. Luke is currently deputy editor of Official PlayStation Magazine and is thinking about growing a beard. He’s also probably taller than you.

Mark Serrels
Editor | Official PlayStation magazine

Mark SerrelsAfter conquering numerous mags in the UK such as Games TM, PLAY, and 360 with his cutting edge feature writing and an enormous rusty Claymore, resident ‘Jock’ Mr Mark Serrels headed for less 'rainier' shores in Australia with the Official PlayStation Magazine, confusing and intimidating all with his beguiling Scottish accent. Mark likes cool frosty mornings, puppies, long walks in the park. And porridge. That boy just loves to eat porridge.

Ben Mansill
Associate Publisher | gameplayer.com.au

Ben MansillBen has been a games journalist since the late 1980s, has seen it all and knows just about everyone. He’s written about games for most Australian tech magazines and newspapers. He joined Hyper as Deputy editor in 1993, then launched Hyperactive, Australia’s first gaming website. He launched PC PowerPlay the following year, serving as editor for the first 4 years. Ben launched Atomic magazine and website in 2000, serving as editor for the first 3 years before shifting his focus to the site. Ben now serves as Publisher of the games magazines and sites for Derwent Howard and still bashes out the occasional review.
