Borderlands 2: The FAIL STREAM
DISCLAIMER: THE LIVE STREAM WAS AN EPIC FAIL, NO GAMEPLAY JUST PEOPLE TALKING. I COULDN'T EVEN FIND A FULL VIDEO OF IT. FAIL GEARBOX. SORRY GUYS.
So I’m sitting here hoping that I’m not the only one who is ridiculously excited at the prospect of a sequel to Borderlands. The gun-looting, mutant-shooting, car-scooting (well, they are given to you by a guy called Scooter at least) FPS attracted a lot of attention when it was first released, bringing what had typically been considered “MMO” elements into a dual PC/Console release. It even won extra points for its massive Co-Op focus (because people who play together, stay together).
I mean, Borderlands even won game of the year. Oh wait… no it didn’t. It just told everyone that it did.
But that’s just as good, right?
Tongue-in-cheek marketing aside, what everyone (well, anyone reading this article I would hope) wants to know from 2K Games (Publisher) and Gearbox Software (Developer) are some more details!
Which is probably why 2K Games emailed me an embed code for a live stream of some Borderlands 2 gameplay – the first time anyone will see gameplay of the game. I know I’ll be tuning in on Saturday to watch, but if you miss it I’m sure I will run a recap article sometime next week.
Personally I’m looking for answers to some specific questions:
- · Like what classes are we gonna play?
- · What will be fighting against?
- · Is the vault involved?
- · What happened to the original characters?
- · New weapon types?
- · More about these new (non-desert) areas?
So far we have learned precious little about the game, most of it through Game Informer’s month long coverage of Borderlands 2 information. If you wanted a recap I would check that out.
Also if you wanted to get your expectations up, you can always have another look over at my top 10 Things I Want Improved in Borderlands 2.
Otherwise I guess we just twiddle our thumbs until Saturday. If only there was something else we could do.
Maybe… play games? I guess…
Here is the teaser trailer again for good measure, just to give you a (very foggy) idea of what to expect. Oh and a video of a Claptrap going full Christian Bale on a sound guy.
