With all the noise recently over newly released and yet to be released games with their respective DLC treatments, it’s easy to forget about downloadable content for titles that are a bit longer in the tooth. Not that Star War: The Force Unleashed is by any means ancient, but considering that the single-player campaign wasn’t overly long and it had no multiplayer, chances are the game has been added to the done and dusted pile. LucasArts has now provided a reason to get the next-gen Star Wars title back into your console.
A couple of months ago we reported the news that TFU was getting the DLC treatment and the good news now is that it’s out. According to Shacknews, currently only the Xbox 360 version is available, but the PS3 DLC is expected to hit later today as part of the PSN store update. There are two lots of DLC: a new mission and some extra character skins. For $1USD (or 800 Microsoft Points) you can pick up the Jedi Temple Mission Pack that will allow you to explore the Jedi Temple ruins on Coruscant with Darth Vader’s Secret Apprentice. The mission will involve Starkiller’s search for more information on his father and is set to tie into the game’s main storyline.
The extra skins can be yours for $5USD (400 MS Points) and will give you access to a bunch of new player models including; three new Secret Apprentice costumes, Republic Trooper, Ben Kenobi, Tatooine Luke, Plo Koon, Jango Fett, Count Dooku and even C3PO. If the DLC proves to be a hit, expect to see further content from LucasArts, as around eight levels were cut from the final game at various points in the development process.
