As much fun as Fable 2 was for many an Xbox 360 owner during the craziness of last year’s late splurge of hotly anticipated titles, it was still plagued with many a nasty bug. Some bugs, in fact, were so extreme that they made the game unplayable. And while developer Lionhead was aware of the games issues and promised an update ‘soon’ after its release, the patch (not to mention the DLC) has been consistently delayed; until now.
According to Voodoo Extreme, the list of fixes for the yesterday released Fable 2 patch is as follows:
-The Ritual/Monk’s Quest – Fixed the issue with the Abbott becoming unresponsive if you leave Oakfield before he finishes talking. This will fix the problem if you’ve already hit it, too.
-Rescuing Charlie/Rescue My Baby – after rescuing Charlie, you can now able to interact with objects.
Guild Cave chest – resolves any issues with previously inability to retrieve items unlocked from Limited Collector’s Edition, website or Chicken Kickin’ game. If you’ve already hit this bug you should now get your items.
The Spire (Pt2) – no more issues with ship captain being unresponsive.
The Hero of Skill (Pirate King) – you’ll no longer get stuck during Hero of Skill quest (Bloodstone).
T.O.B.Y./Trouble In Bloodstone – you’ll no longer get stuck during T.O.B.Y. quests (Bloodstone).
Your child will no longer be chosen as an assassination target.
Furniture Shop in Albion (Bowerstone) will now always have something for sale.
Additional unspecified fixes.
Hopefully the “additional unspecified fixes” refers to the other little bugs that made Fable 2 more annoying than unplayable. In other news, later today Fablers keen to re-enter the world of Albion will be able to get a taste of something new when the Knothole Island DLC rears its head on Xbox Live. Soon enough we’ll be able to tell if the latest patch and DLC play nicely together or whether we have to wait another two and a half months for further fixes.
