PC gaming is not dead. In fact, titles like S.TA.L.K.E.R: Clear Sky, Warhammer: Dawn of War 2, Crysis: Warhead, Left 4 Dead, Spore and World of Warcraft: Rise of the Lich King. In fact, check out our article 10 upcoming PC games that will turn you on for a look at the software love the humble personal computer is set to receive.

Nowadays PC gaming is not solely the domain of the desktop, nor the home office. Laptops have really come on in horsepower and can match it with their bigger, uglier and far less mobile cousins. We sent our PC hardware guru in search of maximum frames in maximum detail, but at a minimum cost. We have three tiers for the three levels of PC gamers out there and all the detail you could possibly want on where, why and what to buy. So choose your poison and get amongst it.

We recently run a likeminded feature for desktops, for those of you who would prefer to stay with the bigger PC option. Check out the article The Best Gaming PC Money can Buy for more. Any thoughts or tweaks you would suggest? Tell us all about it in the comments below.

Games and laptops should never mix. To me, it is better to have a huge special top-notch desktop rather than a laptop. For the reasons:

-Desktop will usually be cheaper
-Desktops are easy to fix-depending on the problem
-Desktops are more ergonomic than laptops are
-Also with desktops, you can in a way mix and match things, even though you can also do this to a laptop, but having a pc set up nicely with everything...it looks better.

Very true, but, if you go away somewhere on holiday or something like that, you wouldn't lug around a desktop. That is probably why I think games and laptops are perfect for when you suddenly feel the need to calm your gaming urges on the move.
