Peter Molyneux will cut you

In Fable 2, the price of virtue will be disfigurement.

Written by: James Cottee | 5/20/2008 11:42:27 AM

In a recent interview at Wired, Lionhead founder Peter Molyneux took delight in revealing how he’s going to cut gamers’ faces.

That’s right — Peter Molyneux is going to cut you up.

Specifically, there is going to be a key moment in Fable 2 where you will actually have to prove that you’re a good guy. Either an innocent person will be horribly disfigured for life, or your character can take their place. Thus, if you do the ‘right thing,’ all the other game characters will hate you. Forever. It’s a genuine moral dilemma, and the creator of Populous is clearly getting off on it:

“Are you willing for people, including your wife, to find you abhorrent for the rest of the game?”

Let there be no doubt in your mind. We now have proof that Peter Molyneux wants to make gamers suffer.

Call us crazy, but we thought games were supposed to be fun

This is actually quite f*cking awesome, it's stuff like this that is pushing games as an artform.
