The festive season is again creeping up upon us and it’s time to brace for the usual assault of goofy relatives, meteoric weight gain, and more crucially, top-totty titles touching down on shelves. In anticipation of this incoming barrage we’ve compiled our Top 10 list of must-have Xbox 360 games, all of which are getting us more riled up than a bosomy North Pole she-elf.
In a completely autocratic fashion we’ve based this list entirely on what we at Gamplayer are frothing over. If you disagree – about as probable as Charlie Sheen fornicating with another stripper – log in and have a rant and rave below.
And one more thing: obviously we’ve based this list on current release schedules so if it turns out the OFLC ban Banjo-Kazooie because Kazooie doesn’t wear pants, don’t whinge to us.
10. SUPER STREET FIGHTER II TURBO HD REMIX
Release: Q4 2008
How can your fingers not start twitching at the promise of such old-school bliss? Apart from new buttery animations and 1080p visuals drawn by Udon comics, Capcom’s reborn champion will offer the entire gamut of online options including worldwide scoreboards and matchmaking. It’ll be the ’90s milk bar all over again, and all (hopefully) for a fraction of the cost.
Sure it sounds like it was named by George Lucas, and yes we are wondering why a game that was completed last century still hasn’t been released, but we’re willing to let sleeping dogs lie provided it comes out this year. Interestingly it’ll feature a Rebalanced mode that includes slews of across-the-board changes to make sure the whole roster is competitive. Purists can not only turn this off, but they can also revert back to the original low-res sprites, music, and 4:3 format. That’s thorough.
