The offlane camps moved. A river path that everyone treated as law is now a suggestion. Mid is slightly less of a 1v1 prison, which will delight roamers and infuriate anyone who wanted to just last-hit in peace.
What actually changed
The headline is terrain, but the item tweaks will decide pubs. A popular mid-game luxury got a recipe nerf. A support boot option is cheaper, which sounds small until you watch a four-protect-one draft suddenly afford vision. Neutral item timing shifted by a minute in a way that punishes greedy cores.
Hero notes are a mixed bag of "about time" and "who asked." A perennial first-phase pick took a quiet armour hit. A meme mid got enough of a buff that it will stop being a meme for three weeks.
How it feels in AU pubs
Latency to US West is still the tax we pay. The new paths punish delayed reactions more than the old ones did — if your turn is 40ms late, you miss the cut. SEA remains the healthier queue if your hero does not need perfect orb walks.
We will follow up after the first weekend of ranked. For now: unpin your old warding spots. They are tourist attractions.
