Rockstar does not do small previews. What we can say from the playable slice: Vice City is a weather system first and a map second. Afternoon storms, nightclub lighting, and traffic that behaves like it has somewhere to be. Lucia and Jason's double act is the structural bet. The slice we played treats them as a couple with jobs, not two icons on a wheel.

The city as antagonist

NPC density is the flex. Pedestrians notice you in ways GTA V only hinted at. Police response feels authored rather than toggled. Driving still has that Rockstar weight — a little drunk, a lot expensive. If the full map keeps this level of street-level animation, the "living city" claim might finally be more than a trailer caption.

The questions we still have

Online is a shadow in every conversation and was not the point of this build. Mission structure looked closer to RDR2's longer scenes than GTA V's radio-play hits. That will delight some players and exhaust others. Australian release timing and store pricing remain a separate article; this one is about the heat.

Preview notes

We left wanting a night drive more than a shootout. That is either the most promising sentence we can write about an open-world crime game, or a sign the slice was curated. The scored review will decide which.
