Sony published the April PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium lineup, and for once the headline is not a sports title you already own. The Extra tier leans into single-player leftovers that still have a weekend in them, while Premium's classics window is doing actual curation instead of dumping another racing demo.

Extra: play these first

A critically liked action RPG from last year finally lands in Extra — the one that was always "wait for a sale" in AU stores. That is the subscription doing its job. A co-op indie joins it, which is the sort of game Plus should exist for: hard to pitch at full price, excellent if it is already paid for.

Premium: the museum is open

The Premium classics drop includes a late-PS2 era JRPG that still does not have a respectable modern port. If you have a PS5 and a tolerance for CRT-era UI, this is the value. Streaming quality on Australian connections remains a coin flip after 8pm; download when the option exists.

The fine print

Regional timing means some accounts saw the list a few hours late. Trophy lists carry over where they should. And yes, the storage warning is real — Extra is not a casual 80GB anymore. Make room or make choices.
