Silksong and Ghost of Yotei Still Owning the Australian Weekend Chat

Adelaide's needle and Sony's mountain are still the two games Australian weekends keep arguing about. That is chatter, not a forged ARIA number.

We are not a chart company. We will not invent a number and put it in a headline. What we can say from the Australian weekend — EB and JB floors, eShop and PSN receipts in the group chat, the same two covers still on the "what are you playing" SMS — is that Hollow Knight: Silksong and Ghost of Yotei have not left the conversation.

That is the story. Not a forged rank.

The needle, still

Jess's Silksong review is a 9.2. The till argument is Is Silksong worth buying in Australia?. Team Cherry priced it like an indie, not like a first-party Nintendo cart, which is why it is still an easy "tap buy" on Steam AU and eShop AU months after launch. Switch if you want handheld deaths on the tram. PC if you want the cleaner long session. The game is the same needle.

Physical special runs, when they appear in a suburb, are merch. Do not treat them as the bargain.

The mountain, still PS5

Ghost of Yotei is an 8.6 and, as of 5 September 2026, still a PlayStation 5 game. The calendar piece is Ghost of Yotei release date Australia: out since 2 October 2025, no Steam page, no Xbox listing. Weekend chatter here is the sale-price / preowned-disc crowd catching up, not a launch week.

If your house is a Series X and a laptop, you are reading coverage. You are not shopping.

Why these two stay in the same sentence

One is Adelaide-made and cheap enough that a second platform copy is a real temptation. The other is Sony first-party money and a single living-room SKU. Australians keep comparing them anyway because both are finished, scored, and still being recommended to the cousin who "hasn't played anything since last spring."

We will keep linking the hubs — Silksong, Ghost of Yotei — instead of pretending we have a national sales feed. If a proper Australian chart number is published by someone whose job is charts, we will cite it. Until then: this is the desk looking at the weekend, not a spreadsheet in a tuxedo.

Silksong and Ghost of Yotei Still Owning the Australian Weekend Chat: quick answers

Is Silksong still worth buying in Australia?
Yes at indie price if you finished Hollow Knight and still like a mean Metroidvania. Jess scored it 9.2. The till version is our buying guide.
Is Ghost of Yotei on PC yet?
No. It remains a PlayStation 5 game as of this filing. There is no Steam date you can set a reminder for.
What are Australians still buying this weekend?
From where we sit: Silksong on Switch and Steam, Yotei on PS5 for people who waited on a sale or a second-hand disc. We are not publishing a fake national chart position.
