Battlefield 6 vs Black Ops 7 for Australians: Price, Platforms, Which Loop

Same $110-class sticker, different wars. Battlefield 6 is current-gen all-out warfare. Black Ops 7 still talks to last-gen and Game Pass. Here is the Australian comparison without a fake score.

The search is “Battlefield 6 vs Black Ops 7” — only 1,600 Australian lookups a month, but it is the honest one. Two $110-class shooters, two publishers, two definitions of “the new one.” Australians type it because the living room only has one Friday night.

This is a comparison of platforms, editions, and subscriptions. It is not a review of gunfeel, and it is not a ranked list. GamePlayer has not posted a score for Battlefield 6 or Black Ops 7. Anyone selling you a winner with a decimal is writing ahead of this desk.

If your house still has a PS4 as the main box, the comparison is over: only Black Ops 7 sold you a SKU. If the house is current-gen and already pays for Game Pass Ultimate, start on the Xbox AU product pages, not on a deluxe pre-order.

Platforms and the Australian unlock

Battlefield 6 launched on a single worldwide clock: 10 October 2025, 8am PT. In the eastern states that was Saturday 11 October, 2:00am AEDT. EA documented it; PC Gamer’s launch-time table matches. There is no PS4, no Xbox One, and no “cross-gen disc” to argue about.

Black Ops 7 staggered. Xbox AU says 14 November 2025. PlayStation AU said 13 November. Steam said 21 November. That is three calendars for one annual, which is why people still type the name.

PC both ways: Secure Boot / TPM footnotes exist on both publishers’ support pages. An older tower can fail the door before it fails the frame rate.

Money, without the trailer

Both Standards sit on A$109.95 on Steam AU today. That is not a coincidence. It is the 2025–26 Australian AAA default.

The upsells are cosmetics-and-pass bundles with different names:

  • BF6 Phantom — Battlefield Pro token, Phantom squad skins, weapon packages, XP boosts. EA’s Steam card is the list.
  • BO7 Vault — one season of BlackCell, Guild Override camo, operators, Mastercraft weapons, Ultra GobbleGums, Permanent Unlock Token. Activision’s editions article is the list.

Neither deluxe is a different multiplayer. If you do not care about the pass on week one, Standard (or a subscription) is the SKU.

Physical day-one for Battlefield was the usual Australian sport: Target / JB / Amazon undercut EB’s $109.95. Those windows close. Check the week you care.

Storefronts:

Game Pass, EA Play, Plus

Black Ops 7 is the one Xbox has been willing to put on the Game Pass poster. If Ultimate is already on the credit card, that is the cheapest legal try. Catalogue inclusion is not a forever contract — read the live footnote, then our Ultimate Australia guide.

Battlefield 6 is EA. EA Play Pro and Game Pass partnerships have covered Battlefield before. They have also pulled shooters. We will not screenshot a 2025 launch blog and call it October 2026 policy. Open the live catalogue.

PlayStation Plus is online-play rent on both, not a copy of either.

How to choose without a score

Choose Battlefield 6 if the group already talks in squads, vehicles, and large maps, and every box in the house is current-gen.

Choose Black Ops 7 if someone is still on last-gen, if Game Pass is the budget, or if the year you want is prestige / Zombies / a numbered CoD season.

Choose neither deluxe if the extra forty dollars is a skin sheet.

You do not need both unless you review games or you have two friend groups that refuse to overlap. Most households should pick a loop.

Battlefield 6 vs Black Ops 7 for Australians: Price, Platforms, Which Loop: quick answers

Which is cheaper in Australia, Battlefield 6 or Black Ops 7?
Standard digital RRP is the same band: A$109.95 on Steam AU for both as of 13 October 2026. The real fork is Game Pass (Black Ops 7 has been pitched there) versus last-gen hardware (BO7 yes, BF6 no) versus the deluxe upsell (Phantom A$149.95 vs Vault from A$149.95).
Can I play Battlefield 6 on PS4 or Xbox One?
No. Battlefield 6 is PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC only. Black Ops 7 still sells PS4 and Xbox One SKUs.
Which one is on Game Pass in Australia?
Xbox’s Australian Black Ops 7 page has advertised Game Pass. Battlefield 6 is an EA title — check the live EA Play / Game Pass catalogue rather than a launch-week screenshot. Subscriptions move.
Does GamePlayer have a winner or a score?
No. This is a storefront and platform comparison. We have not posted a scored review of either game.
