It launched Thursday 11 September 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The search that remains is the receipt: Standard, Deluxe, Super Deluxe, and whether the DLC ladder is a discount or a hostage note.
This is a till guide. It is not a review of Kairos, and it is not a ranked list of Vault Hunters. GamePlayer has not posted a score. The Borderlands 4 hub is the collection point until a playthrough exists.
Official box language, not a verdict: a new planet, four launch Vault Hunters, the usual billions-of-guns sentence, co-op. 2K’s buy page is borderlands.2k.com/borderlands-4/buy.
Platforms
PS5, Xbox Series, Windows (Steam and Epic). No PS4. No Xbox One. No Switch SKU as of 13 October 2026.
If a marketplace listing promises a last-gen disc, it is the wrong number in the title or a paperweight.
The three receipts
Steam AU, checked 13 October 2026 — and the same bands Australian pre-order threads used when 2K announced pricing:
| Edition | Steam AU | What 2K says is inside |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | A$109.95 | The game |
| Deluxe | A$159.95 | Game + Bounty Pack Bundle (four post-launch packs: new areas, bosses, cards, cosmetics, vehicles) |
| Super Deluxe | A$199.95 | Deluxe + Vault Hunter Pack (two extra hunters, two story packs, more map) + Ornate Order cosmetics |
The important sentence is in 2K’s own support article: the Bounty packs and Vault Hunter packs also sell separately after launch, and the standalone DLC can cost more than the gap between Standard and Super Deluxe. Australians already did that maths in the announcement week — the combined packs on their own have been quoted near A$150. That is how a $110 game becomes a $260 hobby.
Borderlands 4: What’s Included in my Edition? is the checklist. We are not going to rewrite it as a review.
Digital-only on the deluxe SKUs is the other trap. 2K’s edition copy has described Deluxe / Super Deluxe as digital on PS5, Xbox, Steam, or Epic. If you want a box on a shelf, you are probably buying Standard and taking your chances on DLC later.
Storefronts:
- Steam — Borderlands 4
- PlayStation Store AU
- Xbox AU
- EB Games, JB Hi-Fi
When Standard is the adult choice
Buy Standard if you want to see whether the loop sticks before you pre-pay four bounty packs.
Buy Deluxe only if you already know you finish Borderlands DLC and you have compared the bundle price to the live standalone packs.
Buy Super Deluxe only if two extra hunters is the actual reason you are here, not because the product page made $200 feel like a club.
Shift-period Steam sales have already halved these SKUs in other regions. Australia’s October 2026 card is still at RRP on Steam. That can change next week. It is not a reason to panic-buy Super Deluxe today.
